FYI: Replacing Supplies is Expensive and Painting is Messy

If you weren’t already aware, you’ll quickly discover that art supplies can get pretty expensive. Therefore, it’s in your (and your wallet’s) best interest to take proper care of your supplies to ensure longevity. Because of the fast dry time of acrylic paint, a paintbrush left sitting out too long is as good as dead.

Painting can also prove to be a very messy endeavor and I can attest to the many ruined pairs of jeans I still keep wearing while painting even though I know better. With that in mind, here’s a checklist of things to remember while using your supplies, cleaning up your work space, and maintaining your tools.

Some of these things are easy to forget, but it is definitely worth the extra effort to keep your tools in good working order and save yourself from having to buy new pants. So do your best to keep on top of it! Your wallet and clothing will thank you.
